Pitrags baptist church - prayer house
Pitrags is a Liv village, the beginnings of which are documentally linked at least to the second part of the 16th century. The church book of Irbe and Ģipka narrates about life in 18th century. The congregation in Pitrags was established in 1890, its members lived in Neveja village and in seaside villages from Mazirbe to Kolka. The prayer house was built in 1902 on expenses of the congregation member captain Dambergs. It was burned down during the World War I, later renewed in 1925 and repaired in the end of 20th century.
The shapes of the prayer house have remained changeless since its renewal. It is a one-storey elongated masonry building with a gable roof. The façade of the building is plastered, with rustication. The exercises of the Sunday school take place in a convenient room in the attic. The altar painting (1991) presented by V. Krēsliņš is located in the big hall of the church.
